Assisting the socio-economic welfare of the needy and downtrodden members of the Brahmin community is a commendable initiative. Implementing effective assistance programs can contribute to uplifting their status and promoting overall well-being. Here are some practical steps and initiatives that the ‘World Brahmins Welfare Association’ (WBWA) considers

  • WBWA has provided educational assistance to 448 students from needy families, ensuring that they have the resources they need to succeed in their studies.
  • WBWA has offered marriage assistance to 48 young women from impoverished families, helping them start their new lives with dignity and support.
  • Medical assistance has been extended to approximately 45 family members, ensuring that they have access to the care they need to maintain their health and well-being.
  • WBWA has also provided assistance to over 30 needy families for final rites, ensuring that they can give their loved ones a proper send-off with Pretha samskaaram.
  • In efforts to support the survival of vulnerable families, WBWA has offered rehabilitation assistance to several families in need.
  • Employment assistance has been provided to approximately 78 individuals, helping them secure job opportunities and improve their livelihoods.
  • WBWA continues to offer regular support to Vedapadasalas, old age homes, and religious organizations, demonstrating a commitment to community welfare.
  • During the 2015 Chennai floods and Gaja cyclonic storm in 2018, WBWA provided essential items such as Annadhanam, sarees, bedsheets, and Tarpaulins to thousands of affected individuals in Nagai & Tiruvarur districts.
  • Amidst the challenges of the Corona pandemic in 2020-21 and 2021-22, WBWA provided cash assistance to 1217 Archagals, Vaidheegals, and other individuals in need, as well as offering annadhanam to thousands of people.

  • Distributed Grocery Kits to approximately 1500 individuals ensuring they had access to essential food supplies.

  • In a gesture of compassion, WBWA provided cash assistance of Rs 3.2 Lakhs to the families of 5 youths who tragically drowned in Nanganallur Theerthavaari.

  • In the year 2023-24, WBWA provided financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakhs to the families of three Vedapadasala students who tragically drowned in the Cauvery River in Srirangam.

  • We organize annual events for young people to celebrate and promote our culture through various competitions such as music, speech, and more.
